Our dealership believes in giving local students the best opportunities for higher education, so we created the Volume Chevrolet scholarship program. If you're a senior at Mary Persons High School, currently enrolled in an agriculture class at Mary Persons, or currently a member of Future Farmers of America, you could be eligible for a Volume Chevrolet scholarship. Building a successful community starts with supporting our youth as they grow and learn, and we hope that our scholarship program can continue to positively affect Forsyth, GA, for many years to come.
Scholarships can be an incredible source of financial assistance for students who might otherwise be unable to attend a college, university, or technical school. Because a scholarship requires zero repayment, our beneficiaries can be free to explore their interests and become well-rounded members of society without worrying about the burden of loan repayment. Student support through higher education scholarships is extremely important to our staff, but we also want to shine a light on the committed and inspiring teachers who help their students achieve their post-high school career goals. Since 2016, our dealership's Teacher of the Year award has recognized Monroe County educators with tokens of appreciation like complimentary resort stays and even gifts of new Chevy vehicles. We wanted to find another way to honor our dedicated educators In addition to our annual Teacher of the Year awards. To express our deep gratitude to every teacher in Monroe County, we hosted a Teacher Appreciation Event. This event celebrated the hard work and commitment of our teachers with food, friendship, and fun.
Local chefs attended the event and provided delicious BBQ and sides, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed! As an extra token of our thanks, Volume Chevrolet offered complimentary oil and filter changes to every Monroe County teacher so they could drive with peace of mind knowing their vehicle was well-maintained. We know every educator needs a reliable way to travel to and from school, so we were happy to do our part to keep their vehicles in great condition.
Another fantastic way to support a local community is through event sponsorship, and at Volume Chevrolet, that includes sponsoring a day of golf and giving that honors the remarkable legacy of Jim Hickman, a beloved member of our community. An avid golfer and passionate advocate for Monroe County, Mr. Hickman was an incredible example of just how deeply one person can impact a community and the ripple effects that your positive actions can have.
As a Jim Hickman Memorial Golf Tournament sponsor, our dealership team had the opportunity to give back to a cause that aligns with our values and encourages community initiatives. The tournament was filled with laughter, smiles, and sunshine as everyone joined together in friendly competition. All funds raised at the Jim Hickman Memorial Golf Tournament were used to make our community a better place for everyone to live.
Another exciting sponsorship opportunity for our dealership was supporting the Mary Persons Touchdown Club, in connection with the Mary Persons High School football team. Businesses of all sizes and industries have a responsibility to help their local economy and their neighbors thrive, and Volume Chevrolet takes this commitment seriously. As we stood shoulder to shoulder on the football field to accept our commemorative sponsorship football, we felt immensely proud of our Bulldog players, coaches, staff, and fans.
Our role as a Mary Persons Touchdown Club sponsor enabled us to support players and coaches so they can grow into the best athletes and mentors they can be. Sponsorship funds were used to enhance the Bulldogs' top-notch training facilities and technology and to ensure that everyone on the team has the support they need to succeed both on and off the field. Of course, this team's success is already evident – Coach Nelson recently celebrated his 100th win as head coach!
Providing our teachers with free oil and filter changes for their vehicles felt so great that we also wanted to reward our other neighbors with a helpful gift. To say thank you to our incredible customers, we partnered with 41NBC/WMGT to host the Volume Chevrolet Crank It Up Contest. This community event garnered overwhelming participation. At the end of the contest, one lucky winner was gifted a new Chevy Traverse SUV!
While the Crank It Up Contest was plenty of fun, the main reason we wanted to sponsor this event was to give back to the hardworking members of our community. This contest enabled us to thank everyone in Forsyth, GA, in a rewarding and meaningful way. The more time and resources we can pour into our community, the better our world will become.
